We were hired by local homeowners to renovate a covered front porch. This historic home’s front porch needed a complete overhaul. We started out by removing all structural elements and decking. Before any carpentry work began, concrete footers were poured to properly support and attach the deck. The 6×6 posts, treated deck joists, and carriage bolts safely secured this newly constructed porch to the house. To finish the job, a wooden stairway was built over an existing, out-dated concrete stair pad. This covered front porch renovation took approximately 2 weeks to complete. After the job, we received a lot of compliments from neighbors!
